  • Wool is naturally self-cleaning, but occasional washing can help maintain freshness. Follow these steps to safely handwash your alpaca or sheep wool items:

    1. Handwash only – Never machine wash or tumble dry.

    2. Use lukewarm water (not hot) and a mix of biodegradable (bio) wool detergent.

    3. Do not agitate – gently submerge and soak the item for 20–30 minutes.

    4. After soaking, do not twist or wring. Instead, press out the water gently with your hands.

    5. Roll the item in a towel to absorb extra moisture.

    6. Rinse once more in clean lukewarm water, adding a splash of vinegar to help neutralize detergent and soften the fibers.

    7. Gently press out water again and lay the item flat to air dry, away from direct sunlight or heat sources.

Pro Tip: Most wool products don’t need frequent washing. Airing them out regularly is often enough to keep them fresh and odor-free.
